É pau / É pedra - Sergio / Camargo

Early in his career, Sergio Camargo worked with female figures in his sculptures, and in a way, these pieces already anticipated the cylindrical forms he would later develop. Sergio used to say that the balance of his works was like that of a body: if it's not well balanced, it falls. Here, we see one of the cylinders almost losing its support. Or perhaps it's a figurative vestige, reminiscent of a leg crossing over the other.
